art+practice

This rebrand of art+practice incorporates community and connection at it’s foundation. I chose to use these elements because the non-profit is based on bringing the community of the Leimert Park closer through art. The logo, built from one form that has different elements inside of it, reads multiple ways. The color pallete is based off of colors used in the Pan-African movement of the 60s and 70s while the graphic language itself was drawn from contemporary design culture. It was important for me to create this connection through lineage and culture because historically, Leimert Park is one of the largest areas of Black owned business and community in Los Angeles. This project also gave me the opportunity to solve the issue of making museum spaces more approachable to the general public who may not be familiar with engaging in these spaces.
